Ella’s Fund

Ella FrithThis is Ella Frith, our beautiful precious daughter who in February 2007 was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour.

Despite having undergone three operations on her brain, an intensive course of radiotherapy and several courses of chemotherapy Ella’s tumour is still growing. In September 2007 we were told she had six months to live, fortunately Ella is still with us and in spite of everything she remains a very happy little girl.

Ella’s Fund was set up in 2007 by Rob Frith and Jo Wilson (Ella’s parents) as a result of overwhelming support from family, friends and complete strangers who wanted to do something to help. Rob, Ella’s daddy did a sponsored walk last September and managed to raise a staggering £13,800. Several other events have been held over the last few months and along with other donations the fund has already raised in excess of £33,000.

Ella has received excellent care at Sheffield Children’s Hospital (SCH) and we decided that we would use the money to help other children with brain tumours and cancer in South Yorkshire.

On Tuesday 1st April 2008 we presented P.A.C.T and Neurocare with cheques for £16,000 each. We intend to continue to raise money through Ella’s Fund for P.A.C.T and other smaller children’s cancer charities in the South Yorkshire area.
