Lydia Lewin raises over £1,000 for PACT

Lydia LewinLydia Lewin has raised money for PACT as well as helping the Little Princess Trust; here is her own story!

“2 years ago a friend of mine was diagnosed with leukaemia and when I found out I wanted to help. A few weeks later, I found out about the Little Princess Trust which is a trust that uses children or adults hair to be made into a wig for children that have lost their hair through treatment. I told my mum about it and she said ‘you do that and I’ll become a blood donor and a bone marrow donor’.

After 2 years my hair was down to my bottom and I was ready for it to be chopped off. After it had been cut people started asking to donate so we created a JustGiving page. Throughout the few months I managed to raise £1,015.22 for PACT which runs a house for parents that have travelled a long way with their poorly children. PACT stands for Parents Association with Children who have Tumours or leukaemia. With a kindly guided tour round the PACT house I realised that what I had raised will keep the house running for 1 month. I would love to help the PACT team again.

Thank you for helping me raise all this money.”

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
