PACT add £200,000 to Appeal Fund

The Trustees of PACT are pleased to announce that after advice and consideration of their finances the sum of £200,000 can be contributed from existing funds to the Haematology and Oncology Day Care Centre Appeal Fund. This brings us one step closer to our goal of creating the regional centre our children and their families deserve.

We will also be launching our “Play for PACT” initiative for schools and our “Giant Leap” initiative to get support from businesses on Leap Day 2016 and throughout Leap Year. The launch will take place on the 29th November at the English Institute of Sport at the “Do it for you” day.

PACT regularly supports and takes an active part in the ‘Do it for you’ day and this year we will also be encouraging activity by holding a sponsored leapfrog at the event to raise money for the new Haematology and Oncology Day Care Centre Appeal.

Do it for you is a fun, family centred activity day for children and young people who have received treatment for cancer or a bone marrow transplant at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The day has been developed jointly by staff in the Haematology/Oncology unit and Access Sport, University of Sheffield. It was established in 2012 to coincide with the London Olympics and has become an annual event at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
