Jake Brady walks from United to Wednesday for PACT

Jake BradyJake Brady is 10 years old and goes to Intake School and plays his football for Killamarsh Dynamos. Over the last few months Jake has heard many stories of children his age and younger who have been affected with cancer and he decided to do something to raise money for these children. He decided on PACT as a friend of ours who had lost her brother to leukaemia when she was younger held her birthday party in December and asked that guests didn’t buy her presents but donated to PACT instead. Jake went onto the PACT website and decided then that this was the charity he was going to support.

Next was what Jake was going to do? He first suggested a sponsored walk around Rother Valley but “no” he said that was too boring!! He then decided a walk was what he wanted to do but with a football theme and with the backing of Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday he is going to walk around the pitch at Bramall Lane then walk to Hillsborough – collecting on the way – and then around the pitch at Hillsborough. He will of course just have to kick a ball on each pitch ;-).

Jake is a Sheffield Wednesday fan but he will be wearing a shirt made from a United shirt and a Wednesday shirt cut down the middle and re-stitched together complete with United badge – brave for a Wednesday fan !

Below are two pictures of Jake at Bramall Lane and then at Hillsborough. You can see more photos in the story that is on the Sheffield Star website which described how he ended up raising over £1,000 on the day so well done Jake and thanks from PACT.
