On Saturday June 20th at 19:00 there will be “An Evening Without Tony Capstick” at Mexborough Athletic Club; this is a charity concert celebrating the life and times of local hero Tony Capstick to raise money for two of his favoured childrens charities.

Tony favoured PACT the children’s cancer charity in Sheffield which looks after children from South Yorks and Safe at Last a charity which looks after young runaway children in South Yorkshire. The concert, which has been organised by the Roots Music Club, will be a celebratory concert of nationally and locally known entertainers who had worked alongside Tony Capstick in his long folk music and entertainment career.

Confirmed so far are MC Steve Smith, Geoff Heslop, Billy Mitchell, Graham Fellows, Jed Grimes, Steve Womack, Dave Burland, Mick Doonan and Scott Doonican from The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican.
